Hokusei Gakuen University Language Teaching and Indonesia Culture 2019

Hokusei Gakuen University Language Teaching and Indonesia Culture 2019 is a short program held by Universitas Kristen Maranatha for Hokusei Gakuin University (HGU). The program was held from 2 August 2019 to 7 August 2019. The participants are six students from Hokusei Gakuen University, accompanied by Director of International Language and Education Center of HGU. There are also Volunteers of International Office Maranatha as buddy and help HGU Students during the program.

The program started with campus tour and orientation of basic information about living in Indonesia. After that, they’re invited to attend welcoming party for International Students. In this program, there are so many activities like teaching practice, presentation about Japan Cultures, and high school visit, and Indonesia Culture experiences. For teaching activity, the HGU students practiced to teach Japanese to Japanese departments student in Maranatha.

They also gave presentation about Japanese Cultures to student at Universitas Kristen Maranatha and Bina Bakti Christian High School. They explained about the Festivals, Festival Dances, and Games. As for the cultural experiences in Indonesia, they learned Bahasa Indonesia, how to play Angklung, and create their own batik at Batik Workshop.

The program ended with Farewell Party on September 7. Participants and volunteer couldn’t held their tears because the great memories that they created for this whole week.
