A Visitation from Harvard School of Dentistry

Universitas Kristen Maranatha welcomed the representative from the Harvard School of Dental Medicine on 17 September 2018. The discussion held in the 6th floor Integrity Room of the Central Administration Building was attended by Dr. Brittany Seymour, D.D.S., M.P.H. as Assistant Professor at Harvard School of Dental Medicine, Dr. drg. Irene Adyatmaka as the representative of Indonesia in the Global Oral Health Interest Group of the Consortium of Universities for Global Health (CUGH) and Dr. Adang Bachtiar, M.P.H., D.Sc. as the chairman of the Association of Indonesian Public Health Experts.


The visit was to build cooperation between the two parties. This discussion focused on the dental education program implemented at the Harvard School of Dental Medicine and how it can be applied at Universitas Kristen Maranatha. Dr. Seymour gave an explanation regarding The Global Oral Health Starter Kit. This project aims to provide competency-based practical support for global health in the world of dentistry education. In addition, this meeting discuss the education curriculum that has been applied by the Faculty of Dentistry Universitas Kristen Maranatha. During this visit, the guests were welcomed by the Rector of Universitas Kristen Maranatha Prof. Ir. Armein Z. R. Langi, M.Sc., Ph.D .; the Vice Rectors; University Pastor; Dean of the Faculty of Dentistry, drg. Winny Suwindere, M.S.; along with several lecturers from the Faculty of Dentistry; representatives from the Directorate of Cooperation; and representatives from Educational Institutions.
