CULTURAL PROGRAM BIPA (Indonesian Language Foreigners) BIPA (BAHASA INDONESIA UNTUK PENUTUR ASING – Indonesian Language for Foreigners) PROGRAMME BIPA Programme in Maranatha Language Centre, Faculty of Letters, is a programme designed for foreigners to study the Indonesian language as well as the Indonesian culture.This is a non-degree programme which is intended for adult learners who wish to develop their ability to communicate in Indonesian, both for a personal and professional reason. BIPA Programme in Maranatha Language Centre, Faculty of Letters currently has 5 levels, all of which have the aim to develop the daily communication ability: 1. Elementary 2. Upper Elementary 3. Intermediate 4. Upper Intermediate 5. Advanced Each level is a 40-hour course consisting of 32 hours of language tutorial (comprising Listening, Speaking, Reading, Writing, Vocabulary, and Grammar) and 8 hours of cultural fieldtrip/workshop. The 40-hour course is conducted in 8 weeks. (can be arranged further) All courses are conducted on the bi-directional method of teaching, focusing on the active use of Indonesian in everyday life. Besides, the Indonesian culture will be given in the form of either a fieldtrip or workshop.
